Sheraton Hotel JFK Airport
Clean, comfortable rooms, great staff and a convenient shuttle that leaves every 30 minutes. the Sheraton Hotel at JFK gets great reviews from former guests and just missed our "best airport hotels" list by half a star. The on site restaurant (Rosemarys) is good and reasonably priced. Ammenities include 32" LCD tv's, a heated indoor pool, complimentary high speed internet access (by request) and a fitness center.
Insider tip: Arrive early if you're taking the shuttle - it only seats 7 and fills up fast. It's a 30 minute wait if you don't get a seat!
Best Western Jamaica Inn
The Best Western Jamaica Inn offers basic and inexpensive accomodations just a few miles from the airport. Guest rooms have high speed internet, a coffeemaker, a microwave, cable tv and a refrigerator. This hotel is conveniently close to mass transit. Visitor feedback is mixed, but overall this Best Western is rated a solid 3 out of 5.
Holiday Inn JFK Airport
.Just around 2 miles from the airport, the JFK Holiday Inn features complimentary wireless internet, a complimentary airport shuttle, a fitness center, a jacuzzi, a sauna, an indoor pool, and coffeemakers in the rooms. Game consoles are available - great for families. There are 3 dining options on-site - a cafe, a cocktail lounge (serving light fare) and a restaurant. Despite all the amenities, visitor feedback is less than stellar.
Doubletree Hotel - JFK Airport
One half mile from JFK, the Doubletree Hotel offers amenities including a restaurant on-site, room service, a business center, fitness center and sauna, complimentary high-speed internet, and a free shuttle to and from the airport. Unfortunately, it gets poor marks from recent visitors, who report inadequate service, rude staff and various items in a sad state of repair.
Ramada Plaza Hotel - JFK Airport
The good news is: The Ramada Plaza Hotel is close to Kennedy airport and offers free airport transportation, free parking and free wireless internet access. Now for the bad news: former guests have overwhelmingly rated this hotel a paltry 1.5 stars (out of 5) for various and sundry reasons and its #9 on TripAdvisor's list of the Top 10 Dirtiest Hotels in the USA for 2009. We'll spare you the details but let's say we can only hope the publicity prompts them to clean up their act (we'll be happy to revise our comments if and when they do!) We can't recommend this hotel, but if a little dirt and a few creepy-crawlies don't bother you, then go for it!
