The Courtyard gets high marks from visitors for it's pleasant and accomodating staff. Rooms are kept meticulously clean and feature such niceties as super-comfy beds, a refrigerator, microwave and a coffeemaker. If you're a workout fanatic the gym is first class. A complimentary shuttle to and from JFK runs every 30 minutes. If you've rented a car, valet parking is also available.
Clarion Hotel Jamaica
New, clean, and in a good neighborhood, the Clarion Hotel is within walking distance of Jamaica Station for easy travel both to and from the airport or into Manhattan or Eastern Long Island. Comfortable guest rooms feature complimentary high-speed internet, refrigerators and flat screen TV's, and there is a complimentary breakfast. The staff gets mixed reviews from former guests, but overall the feedback is very good and the average room rates are lower than most in the area.
Best Western Mill River Manor
Situated in Rockville Centre. Just under 7 mles from JFK and accessible via the Long Island Railroad, the Mill River Manor offers simple, clean acccomodations and a first-rate staff, all at very reasonable rates! If you're a "foodie", there are no less than 40 (yes, FORTY) various restaurants all within walking distance, as well as the Best Western's own Tredwell's American Chop House.
Hampton Inn and Suites - Rockville Centre
Also in Rockville Centre, the Hampton Inn and Suites is an excellent hotel just 9 miles from Kennedy Airport. It offers quality accomodations and service, including complimentary breakfast and high speed internet access, cable tv, a convenience store, a business center and free self-parking. The hotel features a lovely atrium, with a relaxing waterfall, comfy chairs and free fresh coffee. The Hampton Inn is reachable by train and a short walk and there are excellent restaurants within a few blocks radius. The hotel will also arrange car service for you, if you need it.

Howard Johnson - Queens
Only 6 miles from the airport, this Howard Johnson Inn is a world away from it's airport express counterpart in quality! This hotel features good, basic accomodations and boasts excellent customer reviews. The negative comments about this hotel seem to focus on occasional noisy clientelle, but there are few complaints about the staff or the guest rooms. Very reasonable rates round out the appeal of this clean and friendly hotel.
